I can change channels, but I can't control volume

Make sure the Remote Control is in the proper mode. Press the INFO button on the remote and make sure the STB button lights. If it does not, press the STB button and try the INFO button. If the Information bar appears at the bottom of the screen on the TV, you have fixed the problem.

If the Information bar does not appear, check to make sure your TV is on the right channel or input. Turn the remote over and there should be a sticker indicating the input or channel. Use the remote control that came with the TV to tune the TV to that channel or input (like HDMI1 or channel 10).

I have video, but I can’t change the channels.

The remote control has 2 functions. The first is to “Talk” to the Set Top Box (STB) to change channels and pull up the guide or use the menu. The second function is to “Talk” to the TV to control volume and turn the TV on and off. Normally a simple check will get you going again. In this case, the problem is usually that the STB is on the wrong channel.

  1. Make sure the Remote Control is in the proper mode. Press the INFO button on the remote and make sure the STB button lights. If it does not, press the STB button and try the INFO button. If the STB flashes you are now in the proper mode.
  2. Check the back of the remote control. A channel number should be listed. Using the Remote control that came with the TV (or the channel up and down buttons on the TV) tune the TV to the proper channel. (normally 4, HDMI, or Component).
