Community Cams

Clear Lake and Ventura LightStream TV customers have a front row seat to some popular areas of community interest. Activities near the seawall in downtown Clear Lake and at the Clear Lake Outdoor Classroom at Clear Creek School can be viewed 24/7.

The Lake Cam is on LightStream Channel 2, and the Outdoor Classroom Cam is on Channel 600.

The first Lake Cam was installed in July 2004 to provide a high-tech birds-eye view of five young osprey who were brought to a hack tower at the Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in hopes they would return to Clear Lake as a nesting ground.  Residents could see volunteers feed the young raptors and ultimately, take their first flight from the nest. Through the years, CLvision and LightStream cameras have been moved to show other activities of community interest including the demolition and redevelopment of the old bakery site; the dredging of the little lake; demolition of the downtown water tower and others.
